Mindy Pack

Mindy has been performing since the age of eight. Her original goal in life was to be the world’s first “Singing Heart Surgeon”. Unfortunately, medical school didn’t pan out; so she decided to just do the singing part. She now considers herself a doctor of voice and vocal healing. As a result, she has been studying different vocal techniques her entire life. Currently, Mindy is a Level three Speech Level Singing instructor. Mindy has studied with many state, nationally, and internationally renowned vocal instructors. The SLS instructors she has studied with include: John Henny, Dean Kaelin, Jeffrey Skouson, David Stroud, Greg Enriquez and legendary, Seth Riggs. She has also studied with several renowned classical instructors, such as: Dyanne Riley, Betty Jeanne Chipman, Ed Thompson, and the late Robert Peterson. As a direct result of her focus on vocal instruction and technique, Mindy was awarded Vocal Scholarships to both the University of Utah and Utah Valley State College.

Mindy’s performing career has taken her all over the world. In addition to performing nationally; she has had the privilege and pleasure of performing throughout England, France, Switzerland, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Venezuela and Japan. Nationally, she has been hired to perform for NASCAR, Friendship Ambassadors, the 2002 Utah Winter Olympics, USANA, Collin Raye, Children’s Miracle Network, Boys and Girls Clubs as well as many other conventions and events throughout the United States. In addition to shows she herself has produced, she has also held numerous leads in school, community and professional theater productions.

In 2010 Mindy had the privilege to attend the set of Glee; where she was able to meet the cast and crew, speak with the director and producer and experience first hand the inner workings of the show so that their tricks and techniques could be brought back to Salt Lake City. Mindy’s recent theatre productions include; co-directed Come Fly With Me which debuted at the Sandy Amphitheatre, Glee, Don’t Stop Believing for the Midvale Theatre and Frightmares at the Egyptian Theatre. In 2011 and  2010 Mindy was asked to be the head vocal instructor for the London School of Rock, which hosted an intensive summer camp for aspiring artist and joined the teaching staff with artists such as Ace Frehley of Kiss, Sonny Landreth and Jim Fairchild of Modest Mouse. Mindy is currently working with Scott Graves as the main vocal instructor in the AMP’d program helping young aspiring musicians develop the skills needed to perform as soloists in local bands.   In 2009, Mindy was asked to join the staff of the prestigious Summer Vocal Program in Hollywood where she joined an “all star” teaching staff including, RAab Stevenson (style coach to Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Hudson, Adam Levine (Maroon 5), Michelle Rundgren, Wayne Brady, Rachel Lampa, Rob Seals and music producer Pat Leonard. Mindy was also a singing, dancing and performance coach at Clayton Productions for over ten years where she had the privilege of teaching over 700 students. In 2005, Mindy teamed up with the much sought after and professional performance academy “On Stage Productions” where she was co-owner and director of Utah’s premier singing, dancing and performance studio until October 2008. In 2006, Mindy had the opportunity to travel on tour with Disney’s “The CHEETAH Girls” as one of their vocal coaches. Mindy has been honored with numerous awards, including superior ratings in Federation and NATS festivals, Woman of the year at Utah Valley State College, and several studio recognitions both locally and internationally

Many of Mindy’s students have been hired by Disney, Radio Disney, Lagoon, Six Flags, Universal Studios and Nickelodeon and BYU’s Young Ambassadors. In addition, many of her students have also recorded radio spots, signed with record labels and gone on to attend schools such as: AMDA, Berkeley College of Music and the Royal Academy for the Dramatic Arts in England, USC, University of Utah, Westminster, Weber State, UVU and Brigham Young University. Her students also frequent the stages of Hale Center Theater, The Grand Theater, Pioneer Theater Company and the Egyptian Theater as well as leads in many community and school theatre productions. Mindy also has students who are singer/songwriters who are performing in local and national bands and as individual solo artists.

As a teacher, Mindy’s main goal is to help students discover their own voice so that they can feel positive about themselves and their talent. Building self-esteem is the number one priority! Whether your goal is to sing in church, audition for a play, learn to speak correctly, be the next American Idol or have professional aspirations, regardless of your age or level, Mindy can refine your craft.
